Unfortunately, it is the way of the world that mounting concerts such as ours takes time and money. Although we have been self-sufficient in the past, our search for excellence in performance means that orchestra members, soloists and conductors need to be paid in order for us to present the best.
The University Choir has been a solid supporter of Hunter talent for many year and a large number of established musicians have found early experience with our performances. Singers such as Jennifer Barnes, Michael Saunders, Susan Hawkins-Hart and her sister, Karen Hawkins and our recent musical director, Christopher Allan have all begun careers with our group. The choir has attracted a number of guest conductors from the wider musical field including Graham Abbot, Song Company musical director Roland Peelman, Philip Matthias and Hunter Singers director, Kim Sutherland have all presented concerts with the Choir.
